Originally from Plano, Texas, Sam graduated from the University of Kansas in 2014 with a degree in Business Management. Sam then attended the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Law, acquiring his J.D. in 2017. Prior to joining LSTT, Sam practiced with a boutique plaintiff-side employment litigation firm, both in downtown Chicago and Denver, for six years. Sam is a specialist in wage and hour cases (i.e., disputes concerning minimum wages, overtime, tips, bonuses, commissions, etc.) and has significant experience litigating claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”), Colorado Overtime and Minimum Pay Standards Order (“COMPS Order”) Order, Colorado Wage Act, and related laws. Sam’s clients span across all industries, including those that work in construction, hospitality, retail, health care, trucking, private security, and auto services (i.e., repair garages, detailing shops, car washes). Sam also represents those in office and corporate jobs. Sam handles single and multi-plaintiff matters and has significant experience litigating collective/class action matters. Sam has litigated and settled nearly 200 wage cases. Sam commits fully to helping every client receive the full compensation they deserve and has recovered millions of dollars in back wages and damages as a result.
Sam also represents employees in other employment related disputes, such as discrimination or retaliation under the FLSA, Family Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”) and Colorado’s FAMLI Act, severance negotiations, non-compete and non-solicitation concerns, and related matters.
After 8 years in Chicago, Sam and his wife moved to Aurora, Colorado with their two daughters and dogs. When he is not in the office, Sam is an avid sports fan. He also enjoys the Colorado mountains, cooking, and playing with his kids.
